Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

He is indeed merlotgran - nothing Helen can do now to stop Rob taking half of everything, even if she leaves him next week. I don't suppose she's seeking advice from mums netters thought is she or she'd have LTB long ago.

Gracesgran Wed 26-Aug-15 10:39:15

Helen doesn't own half the farm does she? Or did Tony and Pat make it over to her and Tom when they retired?

I do wish he would go - Rob I mean - he is brilliantly written and it is a good story line but I find it so uncomfortable that I tend to switch him off. (sad)

merlotgran Wed 26-Aug-15 18:41:28

The storyline makes me laugh because in real life whenever a son or daughter gets into a serious relationship that might lead to marriage the farming parents go into overdrive working out how to protect their assets should it all go wrong.

There's been nothing said about Pat and Tony making anything over to Tom and Helen but scheming Rob is a good pantomime villain.

Iam64 Thu 27-Aug-15 08:40:48

Pat n Tony didn't sign the farm over (so far as I know). Peggy altered her will months ago, leaving Tony out and giving her money to Helen and Tom. She had a change of heart when Tony was injured by the bull, realised she'd been unfair and hurtful to her son. So far as I recall, Tom was happy to have the will changed but I think she gifted the cottage to Helen so the evil, scheming Rob now owns half of it.
I'd be so pleased if someone corrected my memory grin

merlotgran Thu 27-Aug-15 09:17:36

I could be wrong here but I thought when Peggy changed her will in favour of Tony, Rob was miffed because it meant Helen couldn't inherit the cottage until Tony died (or something like that)

confused

Iam64 Thu 27-Aug-15 09:18:53

merlogran - that's cheered me up enormously, thanks

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 09:21:12

Tony had better watch his back while Rob is about then.

merlotgran Thu 27-Aug-15 09:39:35

Yes. He might get together with Carol and her funny potions grin

Teetime Thu 27-Aug-15 09:44:18

I missed last Sunday all I heard was Jill vacating Brookfield in favour of Heather - can't they convert an outbuilding into a granny flat or something or kick one of the children out into an hitherto unheard about cottage? poor Jill she has only just moved back in and she does make exceedingly good cakes.

merlotgran Thu 27-Aug-15 19:26:43

After a nauseating episode are we supposed to guess the reason for Helen's surprised and questioning tone at the end?

Did Rob produce a set of handcuffs?

Has he dropped dead?

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 19:35:15

[finger down throat] emoticon
1) eurgh
2) hope springs eternal
3) maybe [pinkie] emoticon

Suggestions on a postcard?

merlotgran Thu 27-Aug-15 19:38:17

There's no way Rob's going to let Helen go to Cosy Van Tootie (sorry, just my reaction to all the OTT Italian at the moment) in that revealing dress so she's probably passed out on the sofa and will wake up with gravy all down her front. grin

Luckygirl Thu 27-Aug-15 19:51:55

He stopped her heading for the contraceptives and will thus pass on his genes against her will - that's my theory anyway. Get her drunk, flannel a bit and bingo - a baby!

Alea Thu 27-Aug-15 20:30:22

You have to admire his subtlety originality don't you?
No.

BlackeyedSusan Fri 28-Aug-15 00:31:04

I am going with the get her drunk and dubious consent.

if she has a tummy upset in four weeks or so we will know why.

BlackeyedSusan Fri 28-Aug-15 00:33:23

and he was controlling about her dress previously. did he not make her wear something more "suitable" and less reavealing at new year?

Oh and he has tried blackmailing charlie about the kiss with adam.

helen is deluded. She should have ltb ages ago. well done to jess for getting out.

Luckygirl Fri 28-Aug-15 09:36:16

It is quite creepy the way he planned it - organising the babysitter, buying the food, and the wine! - no doubt he had checked her cycle too. But we may yet find that his little tadpoles are not up to scratch - tee hee! Wouldn't it be great if he was firing blanks! grin

merlotgran Fri 28-Aug-15 10:17:02

Will Pat and Tony protect Henry's inheritance?

Iam64 Fri 28-Aug-15 14:17:31

WELL - I've had a quick look at the mumsnet Archers thread (it's good fun). There is a suggestion over there that Helen's "Rob" could mean he had a heart attack…… or worse, forced the "issue"

Alea Fri 28-Aug-15 14:47:58

I have to say the latter did cross my mind. Have we had a rape on The Archers?

Anne58 Fri 28-Aug-15 15:13:09

Yes, Kathy was raped by some chap, was his name Owen or something simila?

BlackeyedSusan Fri 28-Aug-15 15:42:06

mumsnet archers thread moves far too quickly for me to keep up.

and yes Kathy was raped.

actually, what has happened to Kathy. not heard of her for quite a while.

Alea Fri 28-Aug-15 19:05:53

It has just started and my suspicions are deepening. angry loathsome toad.

Gracesgran Fri 28-Aug-15 19:26:51

I think mine were confirmed Alea, not deepened. Don't think I will listen for a while.

BlackeyedSusan Fri 28-Aug-15 19:31:39

a bit carried away? yeah right...

and that was an insult to toads
