Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

sparkygran Tue 24-Feb-15 18:36:57

All of a sudden it has taken off (first time in a long boring while) at last David has seen the light (or Jill`s carefully placed memorabilia ) and I am happy - though I knew the Archers could never leave Brookfield! Heather time to either pop your clogs of move to Ambridge. Ruth is so very, very cross never could understand why she was so driven to leave Brookfield she has been married to Davvvvvvvvvvvvid for X number of years and has never shown in thought, word or deed any concern for Heather - her mother!!!!!!!winecupcakewink

Oh dear got a bit carried away maybe too much wine

Mishap Tue 24-Feb-15 18:40:19

OK sparky I think we've got that now!!! grin

Anne58 Tue 24-Feb-15 19:30:03

sparky in your defence the uploading of posts has been a bit odd tonight! I nearly put mine up multiple times!

Ruth came very close to leaving once before, when she was having an affair with Sam the cowman shock

Gracesgran Tue 24-Feb-15 22:11:19

The reaction of Elizabeth and Shula was interesting. Elizabeth's was from the heart and Shula realized it was the "good" way to behave. Very true to character.

Ruth's mother needs to give her a talking to.

The real fireworks are yet to come.

merlotgran Tue 24-Feb-15 23:40:06

Can Ruth's mother talk? grin

Gracesgran Wed 25-Feb-15 00:02:38

She has in the past, pet and I don't think she had more than a fall, did she?

Anne58 Wed 25-Feb-15 13:26:51

Yes merlot she has been heard when visiting Ruth and David.

I think the only character to be talked about but never heard is Freda Fry.

Gracesgran Wed 25-Feb-15 13:35:06

Unheard characters in the Archers:

Derek Fletcher
Edgar and Eileen Titcombe
Freda Fry
Fat Paul
Sabrina Thwaite
Neville Booth

A few have been and gone and the children rarely have voices in the early years although I notice they seem to be scripted when younger these days.

merlotgran Wed 25-Feb-15 13:51:10

I lost touch with the Archers for a while before I had a laptop. I used to try and listen to the omnibus on Sundays but there was always too much going on to get any peace and quiet. Even if I did the ironing I'd have DH in the background banging and clattering about in the kitchen angry

I can now listen every evening with my headphones clamped firmly in place and DH can shout at Matt Baker on The One Show. grin

I've obviously missed Heather's visits.

gracesgran
add :Edgar and Eileen Titcombe
- usually referred to as 'titcombe' when something needed doing at Lower Loxley - don't think they ever spoke and not been heard of since Nigel's fall.

mollie65 Wed 25-Feb-15 14:02:42

sorry gg - see they were on your list blush
must pay attention

Mishap Wed 25-Feb-15 18:40:38

And there is a Hilary (?Nokes) who seems to be generally disliked.

Anne58 Wed 25-Feb-15 18:45:42

I am shock Just read Gillian Reynolds (I think, I'm upstairs, newspaper downstairs and CBA to check) column in todays Telegraph where she refers to "David's wife PAT " She should know better!

(Some family relationships on the Archers are complicated enough without implying that David is married to er, um, oh you know, his aunt by marriage? His cousin? confused

J52 Wed 25-Feb-15 19:41:54

How did Matt Crawford run off with
Lillian's money? Was she foolish enough to have a joint account after his previous escapade! shock x

Gracesgran Wed 25-Feb-15 21:37:52

He's a crook - he knows how? Actually I asked myself the same question and why Lillian didn't check all her accounts (she does seem to have a lot) straight away. She's another one who will suffer from the none sale of Brookfield.

eGJ Tue 03-Mar-15 18:29:25

What will happen post flood and that crack appearing? Any ideas. Any do you get muddled with the new voices?

Mishap Tue 03-Mar-15 18:30:45

Crack? - what crack is this??

Soutra Tue 03-Mar-15 18:32:13

Crack cocaine ?

merlotgran Tue 03-Mar-15 18:42:47

Who's going to die in the flood then?

J52 Tue 03-Mar-15 18:53:27

They usually follow the real weather quite accurately. Is there flooding in Gloucestershire/ Herefordshire at the moment?
I suppose it beats a plane falling on them.
I though the dire warnings were about Ruth an her drive North. x

Gracesgran Tue 03-Mar-15 18:54:33

Does anyone else think there has been an overload of crises. I have always loved the fact that this wasn't East Enders with tragedy after tragedy. On this point I hope no one dies.
