Well I am an addict and proud of it! Love it all even the boring bits and now love Ambridge Extra.......I believe I am not alone either????

I listened on my way to choir and picked up a comment when someone asked Helen how she got that bruise on her wrist. She made some excuse but did seem wary.

Could Merlot have been right about the handcuffs which caused her bruised wrist? I was being a bit tounge in cheek when I said that earlier.
shock Surely not on the Archers!

He seems to have assigned himself the role of Project Manager!

I DO wish it would all come out re him, but I'm afraid based on recent experience, The Archers do like to drag a plot line out!

He has ramped up the nastiness... EA, sexual abuse, physical, financial is being set up. He is talking Helen out of being involved in the shop, got them to sell organics, telling her she needs to do the school uniforms and other domestic drudgery instead of working on the shop project.

merlotgran Tue 01-Sept-15 19:25:39

Heavens! He's not hanging about when it comes to turning nasty.

BlackeyedSusan Tue 01-Sept-15 19:22:49

Pull the other one Helen, it's got bells on... tripping with Henry.... not a chance.

and since when have you failed to have any ideas of your own that don't parrot the misogynistic slime ball Robs?

merlotgran Tue 01-Sept-15 11:36:49

grin Blackeyed, I hadn't thought of that.

Didn't rate the orchestra much hmm

BlackeyedSusan Tue 01-Sept-15 00:00:29

because otherwise confused listeners would think they were accidently listening to radio three and twiddle the dials...

I don't think Kenton's going to be all that impressed when he realises how much Jolene has divulged.

Lovely moment of light relief when Eddie Grundy's phone rang in the middle of the opera but why was nobody 'shushing' Jim and Christine?

Anne58 Mon 31-Aug-15 17:10:15

I thin you mean "Saint Shula" Bamm grin

Bamm Mon 31-Aug-15 16:10:35

Phil's new wife after Grace died was Jill, Shula is the daughter.

merlotgran Mon 31-Aug-15 09:30:32

Same here, Iam. Oh well, it is pouring with rain. grin

I would make Pip work her fingers to the bone for nowt until the £2,000, or whatever extortionate amount of their money she's wasted, is paid back. angry

Iam64 Mon 31-Aug-15 08:20:58

13 minutes and counting....

Anne58 Sun 30-Aug-15 18:36:14

And Kathy, although another one not heard of for ages, she used to make an odd noise before she spoke, a sort of anxious sounding "err"

middleagespread Sun 30-Aug-15 16:05:46

the good, the bad and the ugly, they are all alive and kicking in Ambridge.
I listen at lunchtime, the podcast, with my OH and it leads to some interesting discussions.

I took it as a sign of incipient middle age when DS1 started listening to the Archers! I have almost given up, though I sometimes catch part of the omnibus edition.

BlackeyedSusan Sat 29-Aug-15 19:35:16

I am lucky to hear he words let alone any whirring. The children do not appreciate the need to listen. hmm

They are gradually picking things up and occasionally ask questions about it, but I wish they would not do it in the middle of the programme

Nannapat Sat 29-Aug-15 19:18:48

When Rob said "a bit carried away" on the telephone to Helen, did he also say "that bite"??? reception not always that fangtastic.

Such an up and down character, one moment you think, may be I have got him wrong after all and then the next... it's been an incredibly slow burn to get to this point, I hope it speeds up now and the Helen character sees sense to protect Henry, she just has to put him first now.

I think she could open up to Kirsty or maybe Fallon, not sure Emma would be a good idea though

Iam64 Sat 29-Aug-15 18:48:34

I loved Nelson's character, I still miss him in the same way I miss Nigel. Such good fun -

Luckygirl Sat 29-Aug-15 17:58:17

They are just winding him up before he can speak.

merlotgran Sat 29-Aug-15 17:50:30

Stop it! phoenix grin

Anne58 Sat 29-Aug-15 17:11:26

Not a new wife in Shula, friends !

Sorry merlot I didn't mean to cloud your vision of Jill. blush

By the way, even though we haven't heard fom Bert Fry for ages, has anyone else noticed that every time he speaks he seems to go "whirr" before saying any actual words?
