The other thread is full, so hopefully this will be the start of another 1000 opportunities to smile.

Love that one Aka.

This one keeps making me smile!

Amen!

Lying around, pondering the problems of the world, I realized that at my age I don't really give a toss anymore.

If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.

A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, but is still fat.

A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years, while a tortoise doesn't run and does mostly nothing, yet it lives for 150 years.

And they tell us to exercise? I don't think so.

Now that I'm older, here's what I've discovered:

1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
2. My wild oats are mostly enjoyed with prunes and all-bran.
4. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.
5. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.
6. If all is not lost, then where the heck is it?
7. It was a whole lot easier to get older than it was to get wiser.
8. Some days, you're the top dog, some days you're the hydrant.
9. I wish the buck really did stop here, I sure could use a few of them.
10. Kids in the back seat cause accidents.
11. Accidents in the back seat cause kids.
12. It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere.
13. The world only beats a path to your door when you're in the bathroom.
14. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he'd have put them on my knees.
15. When I'm finally holding all the right cards, everyone wants to play chess.
16. It's not hard to meet expenses . . .. They're everywhere.
17. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.
18. These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter . . . I go somewhere to get something, and then wonder what I'm "here after".
19. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.
20. Have I sent this message to you before...or did I get it from you?

Oh, Aka you got in first! I just copied that one from FB to put on here! DH took several seconds to see it.

janerowena Fri 29-Aug-14 16:00:33

Very true, I suppose it's another way of telling you to just be yourself.

Yes, the 'Bison' one will be me again in just under a month. I shall really miss him, he is lovely.

I shan't miss his washing or ability to empty the fridge just by looking at it, though.

Mishap Wed 27-Aug-14 11:17:38

I couldn't resist forwarding that to my SIL who is a cycling freak!

This might be apt for some GNs

Wow. It worked today, but not yesterday!

The thought for this photo is -

Do NOT blindly obey your Big Sister when she tells you to stick your head through a hole before you have seen what is on the other side!

Poor DS has discovered that if you do, proof of your inability to say No will be plastered all over Facebook! grin

GrannyK The 'fresh hell' one really hit the nail on the head for me grin
When will it end?

janerowena Mon 18-Aug-14 15:07:00

Or was it three? Anyway, my whole family seemed so much more relaxed while it lasted.

janerowena Mon 18-Aug-14 15:03:49

I remember the four day week with huge fondness.

Grannyknot Mon 18-Aug-14 10:10:01

This made me think of the "Sunday afternoons" thread smile

janerowena Sun 10-Aug-14 23:31:37

So true.

janerowena Sun 10-Aug-14 11:47:22

That's the problem with being one of four sisters, and the older generation still alive and kicking. You have a far bigger pool of Hell to deal with.

Grannyknot Sun 10-Aug-14 10:56:56

This is me (in my head) sometimes when my children or other family members call.

^JanerowenaHave you checked whether there is a second page of symbols on your tablet? That is where the square brackets are on my Samsung. Sorry if I am insulting your intelligence! grin
How did you do the sad on your post then?^

I did it manually. Just using normal symbols. I was away on holiday, but came back today so can use square brackets again now! I love my tablet but now feel deprived of a second page of symbols!

Both of the above are very applicable in this house! grin
