The trouble is, even after 45 years, I still can't tell when he's listening. He responds and seems to be hearing me - but then later denies all knowledge!

I like the 'fresh hell' too. I feel like that every time the phone rings. DH and I have 'discussions' over who should answer it. Sometimes the discussions go on so long that the caller rings off. :-)

Ditto kitty so instead I played a couple of songs from my iPad and danced around to them. My pedometer registered 1100 steps and as I was flinging my arms about too I was quite puffed. So my new year resolution is to walk (or dance) a minimum of 5000 steps a day.
