Prompted by a very thoughtful gransnetter, this 'ere thread has been set up for members to wish each other a merry Christmas over the festive season - especially those who might be alone and fancy chatting with someone on the day (or any other day, really...).

So...we may as well begin with our best wishes from GNHQ - a very merry Christmas to one and all! We hope Father Christmas brings sufficient mince pies, Baileys, board games, turkey and presents to see you through!

Definitely looks like a sick puss, or is hanging itself front the tinsel trying to get someone's attention?

JoyBloggs Thu 18-Dec-14 16:58:30

I am worried that the poor pussy is impaled on a needly branch... or that the lights are causing a shock in a damp area. tchconfused GNHQ please reassure us your furry little friend is alive and well.

Great minds etc Joybloggs..... Or warped sense of humour!

JoyBloggs Thu 18-Dec-14 17:22:08

Loopy Sadly I think it's probably the warped sense of humour tchgrin

Here's a toast to all in Gransnet
For a Christmas we won't soon forget
Of pleasure and peace
And a glorious feast
With no cause to think of regret

A very Happy Christmas to one and all!

AlieOxon Thu 18-Dec-14 20:35:04

Hey, it scans and all!
Happy Christmas everybody...might as well admit it's coming!

loopylou Thu 18-Dec-14 20:39:48

Sense of inevitability, ready or not! Yippee!!!

janerowena Thu 18-Dec-14 22:17:21

I wish for all of you a peaceful and relaxing time, because I think peace and relaxation are much-underestimated luxuries for many of us.

And I also wish that none of our mothers/relatives will ask us 'What on earth did you buy me that for?'

TwiceAsNice Thu 18-Dec-14 23:35:22

Happy Christmas everyone and a peaceful New Year. May you get all you want (or need) and enjoy the chance to spend lovely time with your families. Thanks for all the support on here this year. I look forward to laughing on here in 2015

I hope that everyone has a good time this Christmas and New Year, in whatever way they like to celebrate. Thanks to all for the chat and company.

I was going to leave this thread until Christmas Eve but, just in case the whole flipping lot goes well again, I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas, however you spend it! And, (thank you, Ariadne!!) I would like to thank you all for being there for me when I needed you! Isn't * Gransnet* great? sunshine
