Prompted by a very thoughtful gransnetter, this 'ere thread has been set up for members to wish each other a merry Christmas over the festive season - especially those who might be alone and fancy chatting with someone on the day (or any other day, really...).

So...we may as well begin with our best wishes from GNHQ - a very merry Christmas to one and all! We hope Father Christmas brings sufficient mince pies, Baileys, board games, turkey and presents to see you through!

I wished a lady "Merry Christmas" the other day while out shopping, grin.

I've also bought some presents. I am giving my son Christmas this year. He has had some money and so has bought himself things he needs (I can't compete with a two new guitars) so I have bought vintage games and we (hopefully) will have a lot of fun playing Buckaroo, Battleships, Snakes and Ladders, Whack Attack, Tiddlywinks. He will probably think I have lost it totally.

I am also getting this year, a pre-filled Christmas stocking so that we won't know what we are getting. Just a bit of fun.

And, now that he is 18, I will get a few cheeky presents too, chocolate nipples etc., maybe he'll want to leave home soon after all. . . grin

In Tesco yesterday. C.......s chocs starting to appear on the shelves shock and my family all planning to be elsewhere. First time we'll be alone ..... ever! sad

Although it's too early to even think about the 'C' word it is interesting to read back through the thread and see what everyone was up to.

A friend of mine received her first card a week ago! shock She said her friend was moving so decided that if she didn't do it now, none would get sent. She says she'd rather have not received one at all!

I'd just like to point out that there should be no mention of C*******s until after the street fair. It's the rules! grin

Greyduster Tue 08-Sept-15 09:46:48

anno they already are, and garden centres here are feeding their Christmas stuff out gradually so as not to cause people like me to go into a decline!

kittylester Tue 08-Sept-15 09:31:30

Sorry Baubles, your 'report' didn't show on my phone! grin

annodomini Tue 08-Sept-15 09:29:45

It won't be long before the shops are full of witches' outfits and pumpkins...

May I wish all Gransnetters the compliments of the season(Autumn, that is)
confused

Cherrytree59 Tue 08-Sept-15 09:00:18

Suppose its bit soon to mention easter bunnies etc grin

Even the garden centres haven't started yet and they are notoriously early starters. Ban any talk until the last week in November.

Greyduster Tue 08-Sept-15 08:39:33

How depressing! It's only bl***y September! I am not psychologically ready for Christmas (I still won't be on Christmas Eve!). But every good wish to all GNs anyway!

kittylester Tue 08-Sept-15 06:16:09

Reported. It's far too early!
