Pauline Quirke

Much as I like Brenda Blethyn, I always thought Pauline Quirke would have made a more true to the books "Vera"

I disagree, I think BB is rather splendid, however I do think PQ is a fine actress and it’s terribly sad about her dementia. In the same vein, I found it very sad when Barbara Windsor was diagnosed and sadly died.

Both BB and PQ have been in some outstanding films and programs I feel really sad when learnt PQ was diagnosed, also was really moved when I read Bruce Willis no longer remembers he’s a famous actor how sad.

Pauline Quirke is a very fine actress .
I'm really sad that she has dementia.

I loved Pauline Quirke in Birds of a Feather. I don't want Emmerdale but I think she won an award for her part in that role. Her son Charlie (who played Travis) has recently done a charity walk for dementia.

When I saw this thread heading I thought 'Oh no. She's died.' Well I'm glad she hasn't but sad to hear she's got dementia.
