If you want to release some held back tears watch The Piano. Maybe watch last week’s program first to prepare you for tonight’s episode 23 August on channel 4. Absolutely wonderful and so emotional

Wasn't it just wonderful and I agree about the tears they were flowing freely here.

I was in tears too! The 'winner' surprised me, I was sure it would be Jamie, judging by the audience reaction. However they were all wonderful.

It was a very emotional program and several worthy of winning IMO.
Having a young adult with autism in the family I especially felt for William. Also nice to see them so supportive of each other.

There is a lot that is good about this programme, not least the atmosphere of mutual support between the participants rather than competition.

I too was surprised by the winner/performance of the evening, but of course admire her perseverance to express her musicality in the face of such challenges.

The improvisation was mega-clever!!

I haven't watched the final yet but have watched the series so far and have to say I have been underwhelmed by it so far. I haven't been enjoying it as much as the previous series, whether it's because I don't feel it is working as well changing the mentor alongside Mika each week and I 'm not sure about the number of wildcards either. The final seems to have been a hit with those of you who have posted so I shall have to watch that.

It was wonderful, not too sure how they came to the choice of the winner. They were all wonderful.

Indeed, a wonderful celebration of achievement for them all.

They don’t choose the best pianist as the winner, they choose the one with the most heart rending backstory.
