Am I mad?!

Around 1995 - 2000, I remember watching a programme with my youngest son (who cannot recall this at all!) The characters included:
Two teenage boys sitting in the exposed loft of their family's house, looking out onto the cul de sac.
A shaven headed father who was a transvestite.
The same man digging a grave in his garden.
I can't remember whether it was British or American; it was a I've asked on Facebook, and searched through archives with no joy, and am starting to think that I may have imagined the whole thing?!!!
Can anyone put me out of my misery and confirm that I am not indeed going mad?!!!
