Anyone else like Young Sheldon?

I love it - and Big Bang. I'm a bit worried about the new series as I think Sheldon will be facing some difficult times in his family

Yes, I only discovered it during Lockdown, then came very late to the Big Bang and have now watched all of that. Looking forward to the new Sheldon series.

I love Young Sheldon. I watch it with my granddaughter.
Great fun and Mee Maw is a hoot.

Only discovered this on Netflix a fortnight ago and have become addicted. Really love it. We intend to look at the Big Bang Theory at some point as I believe it preceded it.

I love Young Sheldon. I watched it first time round and I'm re watching now. I love the entire family, particularly poor George who just wants a quiet life and Missy who's got such a beautifully evil smile. The fact that young Sheldon's mother is played by the daughter of grown up Sheldon's mother is the icing on the cake.

Haven't seen it, but love The Big Bang Theory, so must give it a try.

I absolutely love 'Young Sheldon'. All the characters are so likeable. The mother and Meemaw are especially good!

Series 5 was full of surprises for me, but I won’t spoil it. Evidently Series 6 won’t be on Netflix to binge watch until later this year, so I’ve got record series selected on E4.

I am a fan of Big Bang Theory and of Young Sheldon. I like
all the characters in both of them. I think the young Georgy
is an excellent casting for the 'older Georgy' who actually came
first.

The scene I saw in an episode last night of the two professors, having realised that their academic careers hadn't led to much was a classic. The two of them sitting late at night on a park bench singing, 'Lollipop lollipop' while drunk was wonderful.

Yes love it, starting watching a while ago with my grandson, great characters & always makes me smile.

I love it too. I think all the characters are good, but I especially love Missy, MeeMaw and Georgie.

My late OH was obsessed with this programme and The Big Bang Theory - I know why - he was just like Sheldon - and I do not mean in looks!

I’m currently binge watching the first five seasons of YS on All4. I’m really enjoying it but overall prefer TBBT.
I think the casting in both is excellent with a couple of exceptions. My favourite characters from YS are Missy and Meemaw. And from TBBT, it’s Amy and Howard. A grown-up Missy appears in TBBT as does an obviously older Meemaw, and they’re my exceptions. Neither feel nor look right to me.
My favourite scenes from TBBT all involve Amy, my absolute being “Put it on me, put it on me, put it on me” and the episode where Sheldon “punishes” her for pretending to be ill for longer than she actually was. Perfect comic timing by her.

I love both series. They are so well written. Written by men. And yet even the scene where Missy starts her periods is so beautifully done.

Young Sheldon is perhaps not quite as "ha ha" funny as the Big Bang Theory, it is still a very entertaining watch.

I love Professor Linkletter; his throwaway comments are priceless, Pastor Jeff is so brilliantly insincere and even Billy Sparks is wonderfully nuanced.

Some really significant characters in his young life are conspicuous by their absence in the Big Bang, but then, it was written first and they hadn't been thought of yet. . (Paige and Dr Sturgess, for example.)

Has anyone watched series 6? Young Sheldon has been turned into a robot.

We have been watching it since it started and enjoy it. I had no idea that the actress playing Sheldon's mother is the real daughter of the actress that played his mother in TBBT. wow!

My DH and I have often remarked at how well cast it is. We 'met' his older brother Georgy as an adult in TBBT, and I believe his sister was on once, but didn't make as good an impression. I often find that roles of children in series tend to age awkwardly out of the role, but I think the writers have done a good job transitioning the characters of Sheldon and Missy into young teens.

I love Meemaw and Missy as well. Annie Potts, who plays Meemaw, was a favourite years ago when she was cast on Designing Women.
