Loved this film, after seeing the trailer we went to the opening night at out local cinema.
We were not disappointed.
Fabulous.

It's on the list!

What a great film with a heart warming ending and how times change - hard to believe people could be so openly racist - the early scene where he threw away the glasses the workers had used simply horrified me.

I’m going into Manchester to see it on Wednesday afternoon with a friend. I’m glad because it was on my list too!

I saw it last night. I thought it was awful- clichéd and simplistic.

I felt it was redeemed though by the excellent background music. .

interesting oldgimmer. i thoroughly enjoyed the first 20 minutes or so......but the cliche was piled high. I leant back in my comfy chair and tried to stop thinking.

Sit back, enjoy the street scenes and the tavel bit. Ignore the other stuff which is kind of sickly. £ 5.00 wee spent.

Actually, I think my first contribution was a bit harsh.

Although I felt a bit like a 5 year old receiving a lesson in the ins and outs of racism in the 70s, I DO think the film has some redeeming features:

- the background music is excellent (bluesy/ jazzy).
- however they did it, the scenes where the main character was playing the piano, it was excellently done and very realistic.

Otherwise a bit pappy and overlong.

My husband went with his son and they really enjoyed it.

Saw it last Friday. Good film. Well worth seeing.
