What a great film with a heart warming ending and how times change - hard to believe people could be so openly racist - the early scene where he threw away the glasses the workers had used simply horrified me.
interesting oldgimmer. i thoroughly enjoyed the first 20 minutes or so......but the cliche was piled high. I leant back in my comfy chair and tried to stop thinking.
Actually, I think my first contribution was a bit harsh.
Although I felt a bit like a 5 year old receiving a lesson in the ins and outs of racism in the 70s, I DO think the film has some redeeming features:
- the background music is excellent (bluesy/ jazzy). - however they did it, the scenes where the main character was playing the piano, it was excellently done and very realistic.
