The repair shop

I’m catching the odd programme and have watched a couple on I player, the restoration of artifices interests me.
I like to see the materials used and the tricks of the trade that the experts use to get round problems.

They are such a lovely bunch of talented people. The lad who does the woodwork and the chap who repairs clocks are fascinating to watch.
I loved the chair that the girl reupholstered in one of the programmes last week.

I love it too. It’s fascinating to see these clever people and the techniques they use. I find the “project manager” guy in the flat cap very annoying though.

I'm hooked too. I always enjoy seeing experts accomplishing tasks I couldn't even dream of. I also like the 'project manager', Jay Blades, who is an expert in his own right, often to be seen on afternoon TV in 'Money for Nothing'.

One of my favourite programs ...... but I cringe at some of the over sentimental reasons for asking for restoration . Does anyone know if it costs to get these highly skilled people to fix things

DH and I always watch it. Will is lovely and Steve the clock man does such intricate work.

We watch it too and find it a really entertaining programme.

Yes I'm not sure about jay and the one painted leg but I suppose we are talking about it so obviously spreading the word!

Yes, we love it. The watch man particularly is so passionate and talented in his work. It is a very pleasing program to watch. I just wish the people receiving the finished article did not say ' Wow'. It is so ubiquitous now and virtually meaningless

I found this programme more or less by chance and am hooked. Great to see professionals with high standards taking pride in their work.

Absolutely love this programme - such talented people and the relaxing, gentle atmosphere is a real wind-down to my day. I don't blame them for saying Wow - I do too when I see the perfect finished results! Wish I was only half as clever.

Totally agree with all of the above. I do wonder if the owners get this for free - perhaps they make a donation to the museum.

I see Jay was on Masterchef this week too.

DD is taking a treasured item of family history to Steve, his commitment to his work is impressive.
