New candidates just been announced. I've never heard of any of them. But I love the show.
So glad Ant seems to be OK now.

BlueBelle Mon 13-Nov-17 18:18:09

Just had a look at whose in it I know a few Jenny McAlpine out of Corrie, ed blooming Balls he gets everywhere now, Boris Johnson’s Dad that’s enough to put me off Love Sandi Korsandi ( might have spelt that wrong ) very funny lady Gemma Collins is in everything she can worm into and AmirKhan boxer or maybe I should say past boxer
Not too sure I ll bother, it’s so samey and contrived
You enjoy Silvergirl

glammanana Mon 13-Nov-17 18:32:51

I tend to get more into it after a week or so,Gemma Collins may last longer than 24hrs as she did last time,Sandi from Gogglebox is sure to be good TV,Ed Balls saving up towards his pension ?
I'm so glad Ant is on the show and that he has made a full recovery it wouldn't be the same with out him.

I always enjoy the programme, although the eating challenges make me gag! I know about half of the candidates. I am looking forward to seeing Boris's father. I watched him on TV walking in South America. At 77 he is remarkably fit and interesting. Gemma Collins irritates me, last time she didn't even make it as far as the camp. I do like the humour of Sappi(?) Korsandi, but not interested in the eye candy.
Years ago I used to have fun recreating some of the games with the GCs including the eating of bugs! They are too old and cool to play any more sad.

BlueBelle Mon 13-Nov-17 18:43:55

I don’t think Sandi out of googlebox is in it Glamanana are you thinking of comedienne Shappa Korsandi

Menopaws Mon 13-Nov-17 18:45:44

Used to enjoy more but maybe cos I'm older I don't know most of them but I will dip in and out

Christinefrance Mon 13-Nov-17 20:02:26

Time they retired this contrived programme with its Z list
'celebrities' .
Only my opinion of course.

Willow500 Mon 13-Nov-17 20:20:54

Love it - know Christmas is on the way when it starts. I think Sandi from Gogglebox is in it - I saw something the other day which mentioned her. I'm glad Ant is ok though - it wouldn't be the same without them both. I've not looked at the list yet.

Jane10 Mon 13-Nov-17 21:18:46

Ooh yes I've been looking forward to this! Don't know why really but I do usually get drawn in. I love Ant and Dec they're such cheeky chappies! Bring it on. sunshine

Charleygirl Mon 13-Nov-17 21:47:18

OMG is it back on again? I thought that it was past its sell by date. I am saying this as I duck behind the sofa. I watched the first series but never again.

Jomarie Mon 13-Nov-17 22:29:48

I think it is one of those shows that you say every year that you won't watch it again but somehow you do. At least that seems to be how I am with quite a number of repetitive shows - am I the only one?

BlueBelle Mon 13-Nov-17 22:51:06

I m actually totally bored with it and X factor too I used to like them but they ve all got so tired and so predicable I may dip in and out but more likely I won’t bother

Well they ve listed 26 possibles and Sandi from Gogglebox isn’t mentioned Willow

I stopped watching it several years ago when, to my mind anyway, it got really sadistic. I used to enjoy just watching people interact and seeing a different side to them - sometimesit was quite funny or even quite touching. In the end I felt a bit uneasy watching something that was basically making people suffer.

Grandma2213 Tue 14-Nov-17 01:20:55

I never know who most of the celebrities are so no change there. I do enjoy watching people interact with each other though and am always drawn into the programme. Ant and Dec's easy relationship with each other also makes for funny links! I'm so glad Ant seems to be on the mend. I think people genuinely care about him.

Leonora47 Sun 26-Nov-17 23:10:14

Who are these people? If they are paying huge sums of loot to minor celebs in exchange for ritual humiliation, surely the casting office could find enough victims who are fit enough to undertake all the trials.
Stanley seems to be a nice enough old guy, but why is he taking part in the show if he isn't willing or able to
do his share of the trials?

Eloethan Mon 27-Nov-17 00:39:48

As I said before, I stopped watching this as it seemed to be setting more and more disgusting (and I think sadistic) challenges to the participants.

It was featured on Friday's Gogglebox and I couldn't understand how perfectly nice people could howl with laughter watching people being frightened, hurt and humiliated. I realise that the people who take part do so willingly - not only to earn money but sometimes in a desperate bid to save flagging careers - but to my mind it still doesn't make it right.

BlueBelle Mon 27-Nov-17 01:08:03

I haven’t watched it at all this time but did watch goggle box and see the bit you are referring too Eloethan which made me realise I d done the right thing to not watch it off my list for good now

sunseeker Mon 27-Nov-17 07:11:48

I don't understand why anyone would agree to take part in such a programme - you couldn't pay me enough!! I don't watch it but it's in all the newspapers and seeing the "trials" people are put through makes me think there must be some sick sadistic people organising it all. Perhaps there should be an additional week where Ant and Dec are in the camp and put through the trials whilst the participants watch them and laugh at their discomfort.

Bellasnana Mon 27-Nov-17 07:27:36

I was forced to watch this when staying with a friend but I thought it was utter drivel. I'm amazed by how many people seem to love it.
Charleygirl, may I join you behind the sofa please? grin

Iam64 Mon 27-Nov-17 08:21:55

I've never watched a full episode and then, only when we had one of the adult children staying for a while. I loathed it. Is it ok to eat live bugs? To put live creatures in tubs with people, (rats, snakes etc). I'm not concerned about the risk to people but those other creatures have no choice do they. There is also something very unpleasant about being amused when people are terrified.

Maggiemaybe Mon 27-Nov-17 09:25:27

I don't understand the attraction. Many years ago we used to watch a programme that showed clips of TV shows from around the world. There were always some from a Japanese game show that featured endurance trials for the contestants and we were appalled by them. But it turns out that many people here too love watching sentient creatures (and celebs grin) suffer.

Seeing how people react in extreme situations is interesting, I agree. But like Big Brother, this was fascinating for one series, then rapidly descended into the grotesque, imho.

Smithy Mon 27-Nov-17 09:37:28

Decided not to watch it for reasons other posters have given. I'm not even tempted to dip in now and again, its a clean break!

glammanana Mon 27-Nov-17 10:58:13

Bluebelle Just caught up on your post re Sandi from Gogglebox I think she may have been a "russ" to get everyone thinking and it was wrong.I do think she would have been better viewing than the crowd they have on at the moment though.

Nanabilly Mon 27-Nov-17 15:37:48

I love I'm a celebrity get me out of here even though I have to Google who most of them are. Much more entertaining than dreary soaps

DanniRae Mon 27-Nov-17 16:54:00

I'm enjoying it too Nanabilly - and I don't watch any of the soaps either. I used to love Corrie but gave up ages ago when someone had people locked in a cellar. My Corrie was more concerned with Mavis' budgie and other story line like that!!
