Did anyone else what this delightful series. All about housing and the effect it had on people and lives.I especially enjoyed the last episode as it highlighted my home town of Letchworth Garden City and showed some of the many different types of houses available, although i must admitt they didnt stray into the social housing areas it was the more affluent parts of town. Nevertheless we all enjoy the luxury of living in a rual area with good links to London and Cambridge and it is like living in a very big village.

I have got the programmes stored to watch later. Like you I have a special interest in Letchworth Garden City as my daughter lives there in on of the council estates built after WW1 that were designed by the original Garden City architects Parker and Unwin.

She moved there deliberately because Letchworth is what it is as she has a deep interest in domestic housing and town planning in the first half of the 20th century. She has lived there 10 years and loves it for just the reasons you give. The rural position and good links by rail and road to many other places.
