Sarah Moore won the first series of 'The Great Interior Design Challenge'. She certainly has a good eye for upcycling possibilities.

I'm watching it at the moment as it's my wet and windy afternoon treat. I'm a bit of an upcycling freak myself and as DH can turn his hand to carpentry, welding etc., we have quite a bit of fun messing about with stuff that would normally be thrown away.

I love it and her!

I must say I was a bit sceptical about this, but I have been impressed with some of the resulting pieces, though I am gobsmacked at the fancy prices people will pay for them. I did like the recycled demijohn lights they did recently.

Those wood topped stools will look great in a warehouse conversion.

H and I watch it now and then. I'm not keen on what she does. An old set of Salter scales turned into a lamp springs to mind ! Looked like a child's junk model too me.
We do like most of the work she farms out though. I agree some of the prices are

I do find Arthur Smith's background commentary irritating though.

I record the programme and watch at other times. I quite like it but prefer 'Find it, Fix it, Flog it on More4 at 5,55pm daily.

Wow! That sofa....What an amazing idea.

Oh flip! I'm on the school run today - what did they do with the sofa? I always miss the good bits!

The man she left it with completely vandalised it, spraying graffiti on some parts and ripping out stuffing, exposing some of the springs.

He then photographed the 'damage' and copied the image on to the fabric he used to re-cover it.

It really did look like a totally wrecked sofa and not a newly upholstered one.

Not everyone's cup of tea, I'm sure but very clever and effective. It was snapped up by a shop that sells quirky and unusual furniture but I can't remember how much profit it made.

Upcycling still looks like a lot of junk to me.Haven't seen anything that actually looks good yet.

I agree roses. I wouldn't want any of the stuff they turn out in my house. Its all a bit 'emperors new clothes' to me.

I watch it if I'm in and desperate. I liked the presenter on Interior Drsign Challenge-I remember a chair she painted -an armchair-and I thought it looked great.

I don't know if anyone remembers the leather dress she made for singer Laura Mvula from an old sofa? It was fab and Laura was on telly singing and wearing it!

In this series, I've liked the hairy chair best!
