Anyone else watched this ? What an evil person she was.
Shocking that it was basically a true story

I didn't want to watch it, as I saw a documentary some years ago about her, and found it so harrowing, the deliberate poisonings of the children, and her pretence of being kind and helpful, what a psycho.

It was well done though, I enjoyed it in a horrified kind of way.

I thought it was well portrayed too Lona

I thought it was good too. Not overplayed but enough to chill the bones.
What an evil woman . Why did the insurance man not suspect her or did he ?

Found it boring, so little is known of Mary Ann , no depth to her,

Bellasnana Tue 08-Nov-16 16:07:27

I watched it and found it quite good, if disturbing. It seems hard to believe nobody suspected her sooner with so many husbands and children dropping like flies, but perhaps things were different then.

I could just about understand what made her kill her first husband, the sheer drudgery of life for poor women at the time must have been soul-destroying - and those bed bugs!!! shock

But after that any sympathy I had evaporated pretty quickly, especially when she started on those children...

Was she evil or was she mentally ill she could well have been She was so calm about it all there was no anger really or concern she seemed devoid of any emotion except when her an daughter was accidently poisoned
It was a good little programme well acted I thought
I think even in the day and age of more common deaths and little medical testing I found it hard to believe she kept getting away with more and more deaths between 13 and 21 I think it said and no one suspecting Surely after the second or third one people would have suspected especially as they all died from the same symptoms

Haven't watched it yet, but I've got it recorded.

She moved to different areas, the deaths would not have been known of in other towns/ villages
