but is it not a publicity stunt they do every year, plus next time they do a segment about responsible drinking, they cant really do it seriously?

Maybe I'm boring and stuffy, but I don't find this incident amusing at all. If I turned up for work drunk I would be sent home and subjected to disciplinary action, rightly so. I also agree with the point that they will have no credibility if at some point in the future they present a segment on responsible drinking. What on earth were the producers thinking?

I'm fed up with presenters boasting about their alcohol consumption and its aftereffects. This is especially bad on some radio stations and channels but pops up everywhere, Woman's Hour even. Drunkeness is not something to be proud of, at best it's stupid and at worst a terrible addiction.

I didn't see it, but agree with obieone that it was probably just a publicity stunt or a 'joke'. Apparently they appeared later in the show in different attire.

I doubt whether the producers would have allowed them to appear semi-drunk and dishevilled just because they turned up at the studios like that!

I hope so Ana! But still don't find it funny (sense of humour bypass on this I'm afraid)
