Yet another wonderful series on BBC4. Not sure if it is a repeat or a new series but I'm on episode 3 now [watching on catchup]. It's not only incredibly interesting but beautifully produced..the programme is a work of art in itself and quite poetic. It's definitely a programme aimed at people like me who thought of Scottish art as being the sort of stuff I see on shortbread biscuit tins blush.

That sounds like something I'd enjoy. Thanks Tegan I'll look for it on catch up.

Totally agree, we've been watching (and rewatching) this series and are thoroughly enjoying it. Lachlan Goudi is very enthusiastic about his subject and so easy to listen to. I didn't know much about Scottish art but now I'm full of admiration. Well worth watching...

I agree this is fabulous. Lachlan Goudie has an enviable pedigree as the son of the Scottish artist Alexander Goudie and for most of us,I believe, first came to our screens as a judge on the Big Painting Challenge.
However he is a celebrated artist in his own right and a natural presenter.
A gem of a series!

Strangely enough I was thinking about that series [the painting challenge one] last night when I watched it; not because I recognised Lachlan from it [although not sure how I could have forgotten him...must admit to having a bit of a crush on him..that voice and that accent [swoon]]but because one of the paintings featured reminded me of something from the show; a harbour scene.
