Thanks everyone found it. It was Aaron Neville to sang 'Tell it how it is' I got the first word wrong hence the delay in finding it.

I will check out the version by Tracy Chapman as I really like her voice and see if it is the same song.

It would make a great dance for at the end of a party/dance - sadly I don't go to anything like that now. I will have to grab DH next time he walks in the kitchen and have a bit of a smooch.
