£300 you must be joking !

I have seen it advertised a number of times on QVC and wondered what makes it worth £300.
I recently purchased a new hairdryer from Asda and could have bought 15 of them for the price of a Dyson.

A few weeks ago while I was having my nails done one of our regular crowd asked the hairdresser what she thought about the Dyson Hairdryer? Short answer from staff and customers was " far too expensive".

None of us could figure out what made it worth the price. Given that age range of staff and customers was between 17 and about 80 it wasn't just us oldies that let out the cry of HOW MUCH ? Even the younger one didn't get it.

So like you I'd love to know if anyone has one and if so what's it like and is it worth it?

I must ask a friend of mine who has more money than sense as that is the sort of thing she would buy

She recently bought a coffee machine costing over £1000. Also a sound system costing around £5000. She has stopped telling me because of my reaction. I bought a kettle a while ago and it cost me around £6- perfectly adequate.

I don't use a hairdryer and hadn't looked at the price of any hair related equipment for maybe 30 years, then my hairdresser recommended I use a hair straightener. I did, finally, find some for £20, but most of them were £50 and more - for 2 cheap heating elements and a bit of cable in a plastic case.

All the other hair equipment was equally ludicrously expensive, for a bit of kit that is absolutely basic. A heating element, a fan and some cable - £2-3 of parts, the packaging probably costs more, and then sold for £80!

My hairdresser has bought herself one of these! She says she finds it so much better than "normal" ones. Mind you she did manage to get it half price and as she uses it every day to earn a living it may be worth it.
