Sky Broadband Scam > Connection Diagnosis

Yesterday evening I couldn't get online. I was faced with an unsecure page purporting to be from SKY Hub re a Connection Diagnosis. There is no way to bypass this so that you can check online if it is a scam.
Luckily my son was due to arrive this am and advised me to disconnect my modem for a short while and then reconnect. Then of course you have to tap on your broadband signal and reconnect again.

This is true. It works with all kinds of devices from smart phones to firesticks. Its because the software has to "re-read" the connection. So if you leave it a few minutes before rebooting hopefully the glitch which caused the problem is cleared from memory.

One of the instructions in my BT Box was "If you box does anything unexpected first try disconnecting and re-connecting it."
