Jim Lovell has died aged 97 years. What a life!
I've long been fascinated by his calm skill, so well played by Tom Hanks in the film. And such a humble man when interviewed.
RIP, he's up where he belongs.

Granny Lovell line, "If they could get a washing machine to fly, my Jimmy could land it." 👏 😆

Indeed- who among us could forget the quiet understatement of the man " Houston,we have had a problem"...
A long life, well lived. Whenever he appeared to talk he wore his uniform of captain, resisting film makers urging to claim that he was an admiral.
And he was married for over seventy years..

The Stars will celebrate by all aligning soon, and fabulous shooting star showers on night of the 12th.

Absolutely no light pollution here, and all street lightig comes off at midnight until 5 am- so am really looking forwards to this.
