They kept that quiet! It’s dated July 11th. Maybe it’s come to light because schools in England are resuming this week.

I would be very interested to know what (if anything) does happen as a result of this. Whether ‘gender’ as a concept is quietly dropped or new policies replace the Stonewall ones, and whether new training replaces the old.

If anyone works in schools, or has children who do, please let us know?

After reading this a few days ago, (I believe it was released on 11th of July with no MSM coverage?) and reveling in the hope that things were going to change.
I realised, actually it will be very hard to monitor.

Will parents be able to question and take action against a school, one teacher in the school, a book used? Etc. etc. etc.

Will it take a whack-a-mole approach on an individual basis?
Which, if the recent past is anything to go by(giggle v tickle for example), could end up with results going either way.

I always fall back on the adage of 'follow the money'.
Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, BlackRock etc. Are still investing in the industry that will support transing.
I bow to their financial knowledge.

As Ddg points out, there are a lot of changes in the system that have to do a volt face to bring about real change, and not one of our institutions has set out what they will do to embrace this change.

If any one wants more in depth knowledge of what it is like to be a parent and approach schools on their stance on such issues, LWS has parents telling their stories on its website.
Plus someone from the organisation will accompany parents to meetings with schools and teachers. As an observer, or an advocate, or supporter, should anyone wish.

Nonetheless, I will take good news where I can find it, and raise a glass to all the warriors who keep on keeping on.

I'd like to see what happens in reality.

What happens then if schools come across students who are “gender fluid” or wish to change their pronouns/names etc.

I’m talking only of secondary schools and colleges.

An extremely close and long standing friend has a 13 year old grandchild, fully diagnosed with autism and in puberty who recently (months rather than years) has asked to be called a different name, a recognisable name be which can be used
for both sexes, and wishes to be known as “them” and has had her hair cut by a barber and know looks exactly like a boy.

Her family and school have gone with the and hope that once through puberty and when “they” have learn to manage their emotions and autism better, things might revert to “normal”.

I feel for them all. I support how it’s been managed.

I think the current advice re children is to be very cautious about social transition, the prevalence of children with autism in this cohort is well known, and for me a serious cause for concern. We as professionals and society tend to get things wrong for children with autism frequently.

My guess is a lot of confusion.

Parents will have to do a lot of work persuading teachers, who lets not forget, have been
groomed trained to believe this ideology, to see things differently.

Again parents have been left with no enforceable boundaries, and probably only the health of their bank balance to rely on to protect their child.

All ideologies are about top down control.
This is no different.
