Unbelievable that she said not a word!

Rachel Reeves did good job. Hunt is good at defending the indefensible. His spin is that they are doing us all a favour! Public Services are for the chop. As for Truss

But her silence spoke volumes!

She was utterly fantastic. Summed up the situation perfectly.

Ooh, that's an interesting theory. You might be onto something there!

I think we have forgotten what it was like to have a PM who would face up to scrutiny honestly instead of either leaving difficult questions to underlings or bluffing and blustering through them.

I am not, and have never been, a fan of the Tories but I fear for her mental health. Also I feel so sorry for her parents and her children.

I agree with you Grannmarie. I do not support Truss, the Tories or anything they stand for, but I felt for her and found it almost unbearable to watch her suffer the humiliation and failure she must have been so publicly enduring. It felt watching a wounded bear in a pit.

She might have brought it on herself, but it was something I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Interestingly I didn't feel the same when Johnson got his comeuppance. Perhaps because I feel he doesn't know the meaning of humiliation and failure.

I agree with you - it is pitiful to see this poor woman who has been promoted beyond her skills and is being so publicly humiliated. Sadly that is the nature of the job and she should have known this - and those who backed her should have known what they were getting her into.

It is a serious mess - I have no idea how we are going to get out of this in the short term.

Yes, she's a human being after all. She must be feeling terrible. Still want her to resign though.

I'm so heartened that there are some who feel a bit uncomfortable about wanting Liz Truss and her family to go through the mangle and destroy their lives.
It would make my day to see her go, but discussions about her young daughters in the same sentence as affairs and tantrums are out of order.
Send her packing but leave the nasty personal comments out.

Like some others, I feel rather sorry for her. She was òut of her depth from the start. I can't imagine why the Conservative members voted for her instead of Richi. Goodness knows what will happen next.

I feel desperately sorry for her, too. I felt sorry for May, too, much as I disliked her.

If I were her I'd want to be gone before PMQs on Wednesday.

I also felt very sorry for her. I look forward to the day Rachel Reeves and co get a taste of their own medicine. Be careful what you wish for.

PS. I have absolutely no sympathy for Truss. Nobody forced her to take the job.

That’s nice isn’t it. A nice bit of humanity there.

Whilst I feel sorry for Mrs Truss in her position today, her humiliation was not caused by Rachel Reeves and her colleagues but is the result of her own poor judgement, errors and failures and those of her colleagues.

Rather than looking forward to the failure of others I hope for a future when good politicians are successful to the benefit of the country.
