Isn't he waiting to see what the General Assembly make of David Cameron's negotiating? I think he really wants out but doesn't want to go against Dave. Quite sweet really.

I think he's enjoying keeping Dave on tenterhooks...it's all about power for some people, especially politicians!

Same here kl and I dont know why. He is probably charming, and I try to go out of my way to not go by charm.

I thought I read a few days ago, that he said that he was never in the out camp. But now am reading that according to the media he may lead it.

Nothing sweet about Johnson. Morals of a gutter rat. He is desperate for the leadership, so must decide in advance where the vote will fall for EU membership, not an easy decision.

He's a very clever man. I'm not sure what it is that makes him so likeable but, like some of you others, I can't help liking him. I also like that he's a bit different from the other grey men and women in politics. He doesn't toe a party line. You feel somehow that he's his own man. An independent thinker in politics? What next? Is he a Tory version of Jeremy Corbyn? Blimey!

I do go for the amiable buffoon stereotype but I also read what he writes. Buffoon like a fox!

Can't stand the man. I don't doubt his intellect, but find him deeply irritating, and disagree with most of his views.

He reminds me of Churchill both physically and in oratory and I think there is a powerful intellect under that blond thatch. I prefer him to smug David Cameron, who I never quite know what, if anything, he believes in.

Is he as bright as all that? Certainly not a lot of integrity. He loved quoting phrases from the classics, but not entirely sure that that proves intellect.

I always thought that he was one of the main reasons that most cities voted not to have an elected mayor. Most people I know can't stand him.
