The legal queen on facebook is very good on things like this . I think she says to get a financial order for a clean break. You can get a free solicitor consultation for 30 mins I think ?

Depends on what was in the final documentation. I would think most divorces it is stated that everything is final and she would have no further claim on him for anything.

I think the clean break order normally needs to be done before the absolute is done - he should see a solicitor.

Agree if the lottery ticket was purchased after you have divorced, there is nothing you owe. I’m divorced but personally I will be happy to give my ex-husband some of the winnings - he is special enough.

Presume there aren't any children and so I don't think that's correct.

I know someone who inherited and then sold a large property (£1m+) from a relative shortly after his divorce was finalised and his ex had no claim on it (nor did she want to, to be fair).

It is true if there is no financial order made. They need to make an agreement about pensions and other monies such as inheritance in the future. Divorce only ends the actual marriage.
