Anyone else having trouble contacting the Co-Op Bank since their takeover by Coventry Building Society? I paid a bill with a cheque before Christmas - it now seems that the bank have refused to honour the cheque (no reason to do so - plenty of money in the account to cover it). No relevant help links online and I need a 4-digit security number to get through by phone (it seems the only way to get such a number is to speak to someone on the phone...). This isn't the first time I've been messed about when trying to make a payment either by cheque or bank transfer. Not everyone uses a credit card for everything! Are Co-Op employees so brassed off by the takeover that they're taking the mickey? So sick of this, I'm thinking of moving my account to a different Bank - but which one?
