I was surprised to learn that cities can use their own currency - I hadn't realised it was legal!

I've heard of this before. You still have to exchange British currency for local currency. Local currency is more like tokens...you can only spend it in certain places.

Can"t see how it will work successfully , on a long term basis, but maybe that is not their intention .

What are they calling their units of currency? Bristols? blushWould London have Cockneys, Liverpool, Scousers, Glasgow, Weejies or maybe Gorbals, and Edinburgh ...well maybe they would just be Embras as I don't think you'd get away with currency called fur coat and nae knickers !!
