Duvets - summer to winter

I bought teddy under sheet and duvet cover last year sheer comfort and warmth.

I'd be too hot! I have a 4.5 tog duvet all year round, and a fleece blanket on top of that if it's very cold

Too hot for me too!. I'm still in my summer 4.5 tog duvet

Won't that breakdown the feathers?

I’ve just upgraded to my 4.5 tog, two duvets would probably make me melt!

4.5 for me too all year round. I too have a fleece blanket to hand in case I need it.

Another one who uses 4.5 tog all year round but as we will be cutting down on the heating this winter I have a heavyweight one ready, just in case.

Had to put a blanket over 4.5 tog duvet last night. That will do until we get out the 10.5 tog - easy to remove the blanket if the weather improves. BTW we use a king size 10.5 tog in the winter - it's much cosier than a normal double

In the cold weather I have a 4.5 tog duvet on my bed. In the event of it getting very, very cold, will just have a throw over that. Rarely required. At present my 4.5 tog is still in the blanket box and I only need my flat sheet and a coverlet on top of me. My bedroom windows are still open day and night.

Never have heating on at night (or even most of the day) in my bedroom. Just for an hour or so in the morning and the evening.

Too warm as yet for any duvet. I have a king of cotton santinia cotton bedspred with two thin cellular pure wool blankets underneath, I crocheted one myself from home spun sheeps wool. A pure linen sheet below. Very comfy and warm

My duvet system is from the woolroom, a summer and a winter duvet that can clip together. Only used clipped together in 2010. Uusually it is some duvet or other with a welsh wool blanket (or two) on top, I like the weight and love wool

I am also a 4.5 winter and summer person, though have an electric under blanket as insurance/in case oh gets really cold.

Snap, it all depends on if the AGA goes on which is directly under our bedroom. If it doesn't I have a heavier tog. one.

Thinking of treating myself to a winter duvet and chucking the old one which I always found too heavy.
Recommendations please?
Not pure Siberian goose or whatever as I need a Superking and am too old for a second mortgage.

A duvet that is too heavy can make a great topper. What I've done with our old one.

That's a great idea fleur then crushed feathers and down wouldn't matter.

We bought a lightweight one for the spare room and DH, who has been in there for the last few days, says it does 't 'settle' properly.
