is there a virus causing dizziness and sickness

Are you drinking enough pably? In this very hot weather I drink a glass if water in bed before sleeping. OK I know it makes me visit the loo more often - but worth the trouble! I also drink a glass of water in bed before getting up. This has made a huge difference to how I feel on waking. No more feeling anxious and ill first thing! When I wake in the night I ofen take a quick swig from the glass. Sometimes we simply don't realise we are dehydrated!!

Pably15 it could possibly be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). My daughter has had a few bouts of it recently and what you describe are the symptoms she had. It's worth getting it checked with the doctor, they prescribed her some anti-sickness tablets and exercises but she paid to go to a physio, which helped her enormously.

Happens to me in my late 80s when I sit up from the bed. If I sit still for several seconds on the edge of the bed it stops. My doctor said in my case it is merely your blood pressure adjusting and is not a cause for concern. Just sit! So I do.

Could be a Labryinthinal virus affecting the inner ear or the crystals in your inner ear have moved resulting in positional vertigo. I get bouts of this. The GP once moved my upper body and head to cure it and it did for a while then came back.
If it recurs your GP can prescribe for the nausea. Did your eyes feel weird, mine usually do when this happens. Is horrid.

I do that thing where you hold your finger in front of you and then lift your head up and down, side to side while focusing on the finger.
