Thank you for the hug, Yes, thankfully I have a wonderful supportive family who do everything they can to support me. They take me to appointments and are more than willing to help in any way they can. I know I am lucky but I still feel so very scared and helpless. I can’t sleep for worrying, which doesn’t help either.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. How awful. Of course you are scared and can't sleep. Would Macmillan be of any help to you? They were helpful when my husband was diagnosed. Sending good wishes.

Thank you Kate. I had forgotten about them, so I will see what they suggest.
It’s a funny feeling - normally I am looking forward to Christmas with the family, but this year I just want to climb into bed, pull the covers over me and sleep . I’m sure I’ll feel different when the time comes.

Do ring Macmillon nurses they are so kind and have all sorts of information and knowledge on all aspects of cancer My Dad was diagnosed right at the end and only lived a few weeks but Macmillon nurses put me in touch with so much help Just anything I asked they sorted for me and told me what to expect and were incredible kind
I wish you so much luck there is such a lot they can do now My young friend 35 has cancer in a few places but the chemo will hold her and she’s told she hopefully will live a normal life with it for as long as possible maybe as long as anyone although she ll never be cured

Do you have a Maggie's Centre near to where you live or attached to your treatment hospital? They offer wonderful support for people like us and our loved ones. You can just drop in, attend a support group, get one to one advice or maybe enrol on a course. If you prefer you can just pop in for a bit of peace and quiet away from the hospital environment (and there's always a cup of tea and cake on offer)

Will a family member be able to take you to London?

Oh that is a lot to deal with crosstichfan. It's mot surprising that you feel overwhelmed.

That’s a lot to be managing and thinking about crosstichfan. It’s good that you have supportive family. When my husband was in treatment at The Christie (Manchester’s cancer hospital) I sat at the Maggie centre occasionally, once talked to one of their nurse therapists. That’s one place for support, MacMillan another. Our GP was good - there’s a gold standard for cancer patients

Macmillan asked my husband after diagnosis if he would like to speak to a man (it was prostate cancer) who had been through the process. DH said he would and they arranged for a man to telephone him and talk him through it. It was helpful although I realise your situation is different Crossstichfan.

I had two episodes of lumps, scans and surgeries many years ago when my own children were very young.

The way I coped was to tell myself I'd told the doctors, they'd taken charge and it was their problem now, not mine.

(Two friends later told me they'd been worried sick about me).

Crossstitchfan it sounds as if your doctors are leaving no stone unturned.
Trust in them to know what needs doing.
