Can you recognise 5,000 faces?

Me neither LJ, I have a problem recognising my own face let alone 5000 others

I have propagnosia, (sp?) face blindness and have been in some really embarrAssing situations. It must be genetic as dd has the same problem.

Some days I look in the mirror and I don't recognise the face staring glumly back at me.

No idea. Which faces. ? Friends, family, celebs etc. Never counted

I am almost positive that I have not even met 5,000 people in my entire life.

I know / recognise the faces of the people I love, I respect all other "faces" please forgive me if I do not immediately recognise you ??

I can recognise faces, without a doubt, but whether I can put a name to many of them is the question! I'm terrible for knowing that I should know who it is, but I'm blowed if I can remember. (I don't think any of that makes much sense).

Same here Mini. I can probably recognise hundreds, maybe even thousands of faces in the ‘I know you from somewhere, you look familiar’ sort of recognition, but as to putting names and places to them - no way!

I am another who walks past DH in the street, I also do not recognise people I meet out of context.

Fascinating. I read somewhere that when we dream about a person or people we don't know, actually we have seen their face before - it may have been a fleeting glance of someone in a supermarket or at a bus stop, for example.
