I have been having a bit of a torrid time recently which has made me feel below par generally however in the last couple of weeks I have had a few panic attacks which were really scary. I feel clammy, my heart races and I struggle to breathe. Apart from deep breathing and thinking calm thoughts does anyone have any suggestions what I can do if this happens again? I had my blood pressure checked today ( routine appointment) and it was slightly elevated but the nurse said it was nothing to worry about so I told her about these episodes and she suggested I should see my GP with a view to taking medication which I would rather not do( been on anti depressants before and took me a while to get off them) so am looking for coping techniques if anyone can help.
