.....to the NHS.

At twenty past three yesterday I called my health centre for some test results, which were given to me over the phone and in consequence of which I asked for a quick appointment. I was given an appointment for ten past ten today; I arrived at ten o'clock and was seen at five past. I needed a hospital test referral and got an appointment for Friday next week.

Brilliant!! Just brilliant!! smile

It's really easy to dwell on the negatives (and I know there are some), but I like to give praise where it's due and the NHS at its best is an unbeatable organisation.

Great to hear GA! So glad you are being well looked after. I've definitely had more good - even excellent - experiences than bad with the NHS and feel 99% of the people who work there do amazing work. Good for you for being so positive too - so often people will only wait to criticise rather than to praise.

That is great GG. Not so quick round here sadly.

DS hurt his knee over Easter. As it is still very painful and swollen and getting worse rather than better he made an appointment to see his doctor. He was seen within 24 hours, and his GP sent him to the hospital for an xray. When he got there her quickly received his xray. By then he was saying how good the NHS was - until they told him that it would be 10 days before the results of his xray would reach his GP.

10 days to send a GP the results of an xray? If he had been in A&E, the doctors there would have had instant access to the xray results.
