Evening all,
I have planted up a few pots in shades of purple/lilac/ blue, partly because Mr P chose them, but also because the bees seem to like them 
However, one of the cinerarias (the plain v.dark blue, or purple, depending on your view) seems to be being " munched" although the variegated striped one in the next lot is (so far) untouched.
Any ideas?
The most likely culprit is slugs. You could try adhesive copper tape around the pots, or crushed eggshells around the stems. They look beautiful by the way. My Hubby also likes marine blue shades, so I might plant some up in the garden for him too.

) I have over planted! Bit odd though, that it is only that particular plant that is affected?
Our tortoises used to like cineraria. 
Thank you all. Gonegirl the violas were bought in Morrison's ages ago, the variety was called "cloud nine", I was rather taken with the subtle colours.
kitty as far as I'm aware, North Devon isn't known for feral tortoises.
