Rice cooker

I recently treated myself to an electric rice steamer when my ancient microwave one finally died.
No matter how carefully I follow the instructions and measure rice to water i cant stop the rice catching on the bottom. Ive tried stirring halfway through cooking but nothing seems to work. I'm so disappointed.

I stop mine when it's almost finished rather than waiting for it to switch off by itself. It stops that crusting. You get used to when the steam coming from it is in the right place.
