Reminded of this by Joseann’s post!
A relative of dh has a huge place in France, where we’ve often had big family gatherings. I often used to take a large piece of cooked gammon as a contribution and once took a couple of frozen packs of pork sausages (best quality) to serve as ice packs, since I’d forgotten to freeze the proper ones.
At some point, the relative held an al fresco lunch party, with a lot of his French neighbours invited.
So since they were now defrosted, I cooked all the sausages, cut them up and put them on cocktail sticks, and offered them around.
Within half a minute, I swear the whole lot had vanished, and by no means all were scoffed by the Brits!
