Best hand held blenders

Can anyone recommend a hand held blender? My cheapo cheapo one from Asda has finally died after years and years of faithful service.
I see you can get splendid magic blenders now, the choice is dazzling, do I go for an all-singing, all-dancing one, with dozens of attachments or settle for another cheap one that simply does what it says ....... blends?
I make a lot of soup.
What do you use?

My ancient Tefal blender died a couple of weeks ago. It had the interchangeable heads: blender, balloon whisk or mini chopper. I used the blender and whisk frequently for soup, mayonnaise, Yorkshire pudding batter, whipped cream, milk shake, meringue, etc.
My first thought was another Tefal but I needed one immediately and couldn't get Tefal. I wanted a whisk attachment as well.

In the end I settled on a cookworks one from Argos, £25 because it had a whisk and mini chopper and a 600watt motor. So far it has blended 3 pans of soup, whipped cream, zapped strawberries and made allioli and tartare sauce. It doesn't feel as well made as my last one but it does the job.

I've had a Bamix for over 20 years and its still going strong .Not the cheapest but very versatile .I got mine at a Modern Homes exhibition but I'm sure you'll get them online
