About middle finger size. Some, I don’t know where they came from ,are plant based ? They look very unappetising.

24 here, but there's another lot in the freezer! Again, just me and Mr P, but I can guarantee that not a single one will be wasted!

At least tge turkey farm swapped our bird for something a lot smaller, or we would have been eating it till Easter!

Mine are on the big side, woodmouse - a third of a ‘best’ sausage inside half a rasher of streaky bacon.

I simmered the turkey giblets for ages yesterday for the gravy, then spilt half of the results, and very belatedly realised that I’d forgotten the neck - which was in the other end, so that’s gone in for another simmer today.
Still, if that’s the only mini disaster with this dinner, I won’t be complaining.

We’ve got no pigs in blankets...

The grocery delivery substituted them with buffalo chicken wings. I don’t even know what buffalo chicken wings are ... and I hate chicken wings.

I didn't get pigs in blankets this year. I did buy some extra stuffing though. I love it!!

I'll have to make my own---2 normal sized sausages and wrapped around with 2 rashers of bacon. They can go in with the roasties and parsnips later. Same thing, just a bit bigger

16 for 3 of us. Just about right.

Well he ate 9 !!!

I made 5 biggish ones with generous bacon ‘blankets’.
DH has eaten 4 and I ate 1. (I did them for him and just pinched 1).

Made 6 for 2 of us. These were with venison steaks. I ate the last one which was DH's. He was full.
I did middle finger sized chipolatas with a full rasher of smoked streaky.

We didn't have pigs in blankets. We didn't have Brussels sprouts and we didn't have turkey. But we did have a guard of honour and a wonderful meal it was.

ALDI is selling 2 metre long "Soldier in Blanket" which is cheaper per 100gm than individual bite-size minis!, so Grandad can still remain Chief Carver!

In Scotland they are also known as "Kilted Soldiers". I wonder why!?

We shared our pigs with our dog. He can’t have turkey
As he’s allergic to all things avian ? so it was sausages for his Christmas dinner.

Never heard of kilted soldiers used in Scotland, as an alternative for name for pigs in blankets.

I found our missing ones, so all was well.

I saw this posted on another thread a few days ago. I can’t clearly remember now who posted it. I think it might have been Mawbe. I thought it was very funny.
