I wonder if in 20,000 years time. or even sooner humans will no longer exist. They say this could happen so what are your views?

I think it's possible that humans could end up like orcas in captivity - no longer living our lifespan, beset by health problems due to our eating habits, buried under the rubble of our throw away attitudes, and unable to turn back the tide, or put on the brakes...

I had to smile as one senior AI company director stated recently; AI could evolve sufficiently in 10 years time to kill off the entire human race.

I was utterly astonished for two reasons;

Why on earth would a senior director (or he could have even been CEO), make a statement such as this, yet carry on working in said organisation?

I don’t actually agree in any sense with his timescales.
