Good Morning Wednesday 24th June 2026

Good morning from a clear, still Bristol where the temperature is 21C.
The Met Office chap said that this temperature was far more unpleasant due to the humidity if the air is dry as in Oman (pace Mick), higher temps are more tolerable due to the dry air.
I feel like a troglodyte, with my curtains and windows closed, but it does help to keep cool. My front door is already wide open for some fresh air!
I spent most of yesterday pottering - finishing my trousers which I shall wear later, cutting out a skirt from a different fabric.
In the afternoon, a neighbour kindly drove us to the next village for an afternoon of prayerful meditation, a sequel to a church course earlier in the year.
Today, although AgeUK has cancelled all FAB cafes, the vicar has asked that we should proceed as usual. My only condition is that I would finish early as I have a 10 minute walk home.
In the afternoon, we have an estate monthly “progress report”, with no manager, that Mr. Teflon is to chair. It should be interesting.
Please keep safe and cool 😎🥶
🐦‍🔥Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and the high is forecast at 37°C.

I ventured to the other side of the island yesterday, traffic was awful both ways, this little island has far too many cars.

I bought a cross-trainer, it will be delivered next week so is my birthday present to myself! I had a lovely chat with the young Thai salesman who showed me pictures of York where he went to university. My mother was from York so I have spent many happy times there and knew all the places in his photos.

Went to Lidl on the way home so am now stocked up for a while.

My hairdresser has her surgery today to remove a tumour in her colon. I’m praying all will go well for her.

Very sensible of you to stay home whilst the weather is so hot, Mick. I’m sure you’ll soon be able to go back to your daily bus trips.

I’m going to walk to the shop for bread but will then stay home. Haven’t seen the boys this week so I’m hoping for a visit after school.

Thinking of all with health and other worries, and of our missing posters.

Take care all.☀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where I’m awake very early for some reason! No matter. I slept well. It’s nice and cool here at the moment however Alexa tells me it’ll Be 30°C again later.

I have my yoga class at 10am no excuse not to go as (a) it’s round the corner at the library right next door to Sainsbury’s and (b) the room has air con - so Downward Dog it is then!

Home for quick freshen up & change into a summer dress and Birks then meeting 2 ladies from book club for lunch and wine in the square. Later I’ll be watching L’il Miss at her swim lesson, doubtless envious of a dip!

Hope we hear from Marydoll today and thinking of Blossoming. Trust Grandmabatty is finding her detox from GN beneficial but haste ye back woman - I miss hearing about your wee boys.

Good morning from an already very warm NE Mids. It looks like another extremely hot day today and there’s not a breath of a breeze. I have a physiotherapy appointment this morning, otherwise I wouldn’t be venturing anywhere. After my appointment it will be a steady day, catching up on a crafting project, keeping out of the sun and drinking plenty of water.
Stay safe and have a good day one and all!

Good morning from s somerset

38 for me later today. I went to the allotment at 6.30 pm yesterday and did a bit of basic watering, just the tomatoes squashes and beans, I tied up the tomatoes and courgettes and came home, it was still 33 then and I was drenched. No more visits until sunday now. I spent the rest of the evening in my thin slinky viscose nightie, in front of a fan

I drank lots of water in the evening, consequently I woke 3 times just for the loo but still had a very good sleep, glad that the waterworks were functioning properly

Umbrellas are up and all east window shutters and blinds down. Water in the fridge, to join the water melon, coconut water and salad stuff.

So it could be boring today but I won`t let it, I won`t be doing any work but I`ll find things to keep me occupied without moving too much. I have no intention of causing myself to heat up

Good morning from a sunny corner of Essex, where it’s 21° we are expected to get to the mid 30’s.

The Imp is finishing school at lunchtime, so he will be here in the spa pool, the 11yr old is having a taster day at his senior school so will join us at 3pm.

I am going to the gym for my usual class, like FGT2 the air conditioning will be on.

I am worried about Marydoll

Take care 🙋‍♀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is 22 degrees and climbing with not a breath of air stirring. Yesterday, in school, it was like a sauna full of hot and grumpy children. I walked there and back which was the sum total of my exercise for the day. When it cooled down a little in the evening, I cut back my spent cornflower plants, and, as always, there are new shoots coming through so I shall have a second flush of flowers.

This afternoon is writer’s group at the library but I’m not sure yet whether I will go, and if I do it certainly won’t be in the car which will be like an oven, even by now.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all.
Yesterday on family wassap our children encouraged us to go to our seaside cottage for a few days, for some sea breezes, so we’re off there this morning.

Keep safe one and all. ☀️

Good morning all from the Black country.
Toddlers this morning possibly will be busy mums will want to keep them out of the sun.
No other plans other than to keep myself cool.
Mick very sensible not doing the bus journeys in this heat.
Thinking of missing posters.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans stay cool🍦

Good morning everyone from a sticky Lancashire. Very sensible, Mick, I don't imagine bus travel is very comfortable at the moment.

Belated congratulations to your grand daughter, Gagagran. What an achievement! 🥂

DH's hospital appointment went well yesterday which we are both thankful for.

Today I'll take the little chap to Toddler Group. It will be the last 1 for us before the summer as we're heading to the caravan on Friday for 3 weeks.

Take care everyone. 🌻

Good morning from N. Bucks. 31 high predicted here.
I have to. Be at the surgery at 9 for the first part of my yearly diabetic check.
On return I shall make some scones to take to craft club with jam and clotted cream. It is our last meeting before the summer break. I wonder how many will turn up.
I also have a hair appointment late morning and WI committee the evening.
Keep cool and enjoy your day..

The trousers. Bright, aren’t they. 😎

Good morning from a sultry Leicestershire where there is a slight breeze.

Just got back from taking doggy out. I only met runners and other dog walkers.
This morning meeting friends in an air conditioned cafe!

Lovely that you can enjoy your cottage again Gingster.

Morning all from an already hot Kew!

I’ll take granddaughter to school then drive home in my air conditioned car.

I’ve enjoyed my short stay - next month granddaughter is coming for four nights while her parents zoom off to Vienna. I am planning amusements already.

Have a good day and keep hydrated.

The trousers. Bright, aren’t they. 😎

Wow!

Good morning, I’m struggling with this heat so I slept badly too.
I have been up since 5, done the usual chores and cleaning, changed the bed and the washing is on.
There are 2 fans on in the living room, the windows are open front and back before the sun comes round then it’s a case of closing them and drawing the curtains at the front of the house then sitting it out 🤷🏼‍♀️
I actually had a phone consultation yesterday morning with the gastroenterologist. He apologised profusely for everything I have been through, says he’ll put me on the 2 week pathway for a sigmoidoscopy but it’ll be nearer to 4-6 weeks, quelle surprise ….
He says it’s not looking like a cancer but until it’s biopsied he can’t be sure.

DH has walked the dogs so a quiet day ahead.
Take care 🌹

I love your trousers grandMattie!

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where another hot sunny day awaits.
No plans for today as yet- we did consider packing the camper and finding somewhere cooler. DH seemed disappointed when I said I didn’t want another long trip so soon. I don’t like the heat in the house either. It’s very well insulated which is great in winter but a nightmare to cool in summer . Being south facing doesn’t help.
I did get my hearing aids fitted yesterday despite my ear not being quite right. I was shocked at the difference they made. The audiologist? explained I had lost my hearing so gradually I hadn’t really noticed. I think I prefer it quiet. He said it would take quite a few weeks before I got used to them but wearing was essential to slow further hearing loss.
I’ve got 2 days of peace left as I’m not to start wearing them until I’ve finished my medication.
Thinking of all with more serious worries. Take care🌸

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Back to blue skies and sunshine this morning after yesterday’s storms. Dentist yesterday was fine, no work to be done, and the surgery was air conditioned! I could have stayed there all day.
As far as I know my DGD’s school is continuing as normal, although our village school closed at 12 yesterday and may be closed today.
I won’t be doing much outside today, may go for a walk after breakfast when it won’t be too hot.

Thinking of all those for whom this heat is a real problem, and of our absent posters.

Have the coolest day you can everyone.

Good morning it’s 22• here now. I have to go to Specsavers to have my ears sorted out and then visit my friend who has had a foot op. She is a few days post op and struggling.
I think that will be more than enough.
Well done to your GD Gagagran
Keep cool

Loving the trousers grandMattie 👍

Pretty hot already here in N Surrey.
A day of keeping cool. Looking forward to next week when it looks like normal temperatures again. Not too much rushing about everyone...it is a red alert.

Love the trousers GrandMattie. Can you pick out one of the darker colours and make a neat fitting top. It would then look like a complete outfit.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; more hot temperatures today so won't be doing very much.

When we lived in northern Australia we had this hot dry weather every day from April to October; luckily we had aircon in every room so it was bearable.
Also most shops, public places and schools were all air-conditioned.
From November to March it was also hot, but very humid and wet as it was monsoon season.

Yesterday I took it really easy - put a bit of washing out first thing and managed to clean the bathrooms while it was still cool.
After lunch I just lay on the sofa and got stuck into a book - it will be more of the same today.

Today will feel a bit strange without the routine of eye drops seven times a day for the last three weeks. I see my ophthalmologist next week and hope to get the all-clear to return to normal activities. I am still being careful about lifting things and not gardening or doing things which involve a lot of dust.

Bacon chop and pineapple for dinner with veg and probably chips!

Lovely trousers grandMattie!

Take care everyone and have a pleasant Wednesday.
