MP Anneliese Midgley is spearheading a campaign to ban low-level letterboxes and require door manufacturers to set them at least 27 inches up the door.
She found out that approx 18,000 back injuries amongst Posties are a result of badly positioned letterboxes, not to mention finger injuries from snappy dogs on the other side of the door.
I always thought low down letterboxes were illegal anyway, but apparently not.
