Aww, so sad to hear this. He didn't get long after his last show. Lovely memories of his lunchtime show, 50 years ago when DS1 was a baby. I loved his quiz, Pop the Question.

RIP Johnnie Walker a great DJ for so many years. One of my favourites too.

I used to enjoy listening to him in the early days of Radio 1 ,and also when on the pirates Radio Caroline .

Really sad news but I thought Bob Harris did an amazing tribute to him, especially as the news of Jonnie's death broke when Bob was live on air. I too remember his lunchtime show when my DD1 was a baby and then later on he and Sally Traffic accompanied me on my long commute home. Lovely, happy memories. RIP The Pirate

Rest in peace Mr Walker. I enjoyed your radio programme until it was horribly interrupted by your wife, who seemed to think she was the star of the show. Thank you though for your good energy & knowledge & may you now rest peacefully . 🤔
