Making a comfortable bed

I would check the height.
Camp beds can be on the low side and your friend’s muscles in the stomach area may be tender.

You could try putting some spare duvets under the sheet that she sleeps on. They will act like a mattress topper.

Can you allow her your bed for the short while and you use the camp bed?

I don't think it's a great idea after surgery- even keyhole- as getting up ftom low down may be difficult.

I’ve just had stomach keyhole surgery and the thought of sleeping on a camp bed would fill me with dread. It can be a lot more painful than people realise and as Maw says, getting up can strain the muscles which must be avoided.

I really don’t think a camp bed would be suitable.

I agree that a camp bed could be dodgy post op. Could you swap beds or could she stay in her own home and have you over to stay with her if sleeping arrangements are better.

LOTV - you are very kind. As some others have suggested, it’s better to let her have your bed while you use the camp bed.

as she's only 34 I think a camp bed will be fine.. a camp bed or fold up bed is what you have I assume, not a basic tent camp bed.

I agree with most posters here . Yes she is young but a camp bed is not the best place for her to sleep. Could she have your bed for the time she is with you ?
