Weatherspoons a place to avoid Thursday and Sunday?

Not just Wetherspoons.

Understand what you are saying,but Weatherspoons is a football free pub,but the games are free to air.

For those of us who don’t care about football, perhaps these are the best times to go to Wetherspoons.

Our Wetherspoons never shows football. They only have one TV which is tucked up a corner, always tuned in to BBC News with the sound off and subtitles on.

We did go to Wetherspoons one Sunday in the Spring, it was the only place open we had a cheap mediocre meal, as we left the bouncer had just started his evening shift.

Old news, the England qualifiers and friendlies have been on terrestrial TV over the last few weeks, I’ve been watching them, International break for the leagues.

Made me laugh the other day … a bar in Málaga - I noticed it was called ‘Wetherspains’. Tickled me. 😁

England matches have always (or nearly always) been on terrestrial TV, and Wetherspoons haven't shown football in the past. Does this mean they are showing it? Not sure.

I think infoman means that we should stay at home to watch the football. On a scale of 1 to 10 of things I don’t want to do that would be verging on an 11.

It was a heads up if you wanted to have a quiet meal and drink to avoid Thursday night and Sunday afternoon,
and go some other times.
Not every one likes football.

I wouldn’t go to a Wetherspoons if you paid me. Don't get me wrong, I love pubs.

Why not?

I've found the food there much the same as any other pub meal
Just cheaper.

We had a lovely breakfast in a Spoons in a very upmarket area on Sunday with our family. Delicious and cheap.

I like Wetherspoons. It's reliable, decent affordable food and friendly staff so you know what to expect. Also provide a warm space with refillable coffee and tea

They also have very comfortable and reasonable rooms.
