Because of current eye problems I have ben in touch with RNIB about the use of their talking books. They are happy to welcome me but mention that I shall need one of their machines to listen to said books.
Does anyone have knowledge of the machines and their workings, please? Thank you,

Have you thought about using your local library service? I don't know if you can see enough to click on and select "play" for example but once on your phone or ipad/laptop there are 1000s free through the library.
I mainly use the BorrowBox service this way.
I've taken some screenshot of the last books I've listened to this way.
