Has anyone else had experience of two chaps ( married) who adopted a little boy as a baby. The couple have been having problems and my concern is obviously for the child now age 7. Both adults have demanding jobs which necessitates being away for a few days each week, usually not at the same time although this has occurred and granny steps in. Only one set of GPs live in UK but not locally. The other set live abroad as not British but child visits frequently with one parent. Neither seem prepared to be the ‘principle’ carer as both consider their careers as the most important. The child goes to breakfast club and after school activities on 3/5 days. He has been aware of being adopted and has often asked for a sibling and has been know to say to his auntie on several occasions “I wish you were my mummy”
Weekends are usually child based with one or the other, not often as a united unit. Any experience of such a situation would be much appreciated, apologies for any grammatical errors.
