It’s Yorkshire Day, where is your favourite spot?

As a Lancashire lass, I confess to the beauty of Yorkshire but - morecambe bay over to Cumbria takes some beating

The lovely coastline walk and seasides of North Yorkshire. Whether it's the dramatic Robin Hood's bay or the sandy Runswick Bay down to Flambrough Head.

My parents and siblings were all born in North Yorkshire but moved South before I was born. Something I never forgave my parents for!! We used to travel up every summer holiday to visit all my relatives

So my favourite place is the little white bridge near Osmotherly, the place of many family photos throughout the generations

Wales!
Almost anywhere.
But particularly a much-loved spot on Anglesey.

Has to be york. I'm lucky to have adopted it as my home city

Thixendale always came high on the list and the Medieval ruins of Wharram Percy. Also some of the walks along the Humber
My own county always beats the lot though, whether it's seaside or country. The view from the Morecambe area of BlackCombe tells me I'm nearly there.

Sorry to bring Lancashire into this. Yorkshire- the cliff walk from robin hood’s bay to Whitby is glorious

So many places - we lived in Wensleydale for a time and Aysgarth is where our beloved Golden Retreiver's ashes are buried as she loved walking with us there. The walk along the river at Mukor is my favourite walk such beautiful views. wonderful waterfalls at Askrigg, a bit of an upward hike but so worth it.

Must agree with you Ima64 Morcambe bay has lovely views, especially the sunset.

It is also Swiss National day today.

We've been to many parts of Yorkshire and it's beautiful. This year we discovered Filey. What a treasure. We'll be going back.

I stayed in Harrogate which I love, where a trip to Betty's Tea Rooms is an absolute must. Last time we were there we took the train to Leeds, I'd never been there before, there's still so much of the north of England I would love to see, certainly your neck of the woods, Lancashire, Iam, that's on my list. York is also a fabulous city, a bit like Bath full of history and character. I certainly remember a trip to Rievaulx Abbey and all the beautiful places in between. The Yorkshire Dales are a knockout. It would be hard to pinpoint one place, it all looked lovely and you gave the world Yorkshire Puddings

I’m extremely biased as I live there, but Filey is my slice of heaven.

I lived in Hull as a child and every year we got the steam train to Filey every year a slice of heaven indeed - thats hardly changed since I was that child. Chips down Coble Landing, escaping the tide on the Brig, and clean clean beach.

When I’m feeling sentimental, I stand outside my old home in Harrogate (I was only a baby) and imagine my Mum being so happy there. Within a few years, we were in Durham and she was diagnosed with a severe form of RA, which totally changed her life and caused her premature death.

There are too many to list for this Yorkshire lass, but I’m with Wyllow the Yorkshire coastline from Staines down to Flamborough. But then there is the path from Ribblehead Viaduct to Wernside and the view when you get there, the River Swale at Richmond, where I fished one weekend, and gorgeous Fountains Abbey, and Aysgsrth Falls and……. big sigh☺️.

Yes I have a very very soft spot for Filey too!

Being a Yorkshire girl I love the whole county but especially Swaledale!

Our stay in Filey happened to coincide with the Steam Punk Festival. What a treat that was.

Knaresborough and Harrogate. We visit both towns regularly.
I love Thorp Perrow arboretum, walking amongst the beautiful trees. There is also a bird of prey and animal centre there.

The steam train from Pickering to Whitby, Pickering and Whitby are both lovely with wonderful scenery on the journey between.

Another vote for Pickering from 🇫🇷.
Moors, wolds, good shops and a lovely train ride.
