How Old (or Young) are you in your Head? 🤔

My DM used to say she always felt 18!
She lived a long and very eventful life and died aged 93.

I'm a middle aged middle child. I have certainly been affected by losing my DH of 50 years and am aware that I have limited time left.
I don't know where the last 20yrs have gone but they must have happened because the DGC arrived and are now becoming teenagers.

I’m around 21 in my head and that thought gives me so much energy to take an interest in new things. Old???? What’s old???

I feel like I’m in my 30s in my head as I still think young but then as Grandmabatty said I look in the mirror!

Good day 30s, bad day 80s. Spot myself in mirror add another 20 years to real age.

I'm 17 forever!

I always feel about 30, not for any particular reason. I get quite a shock when I see myself in the mirror !

I've been 27 for 55 years. It was a good year for me, so I decided to stay there! Strangely. the mirror shows me my granny.

Find it hard to believe I'm in my mid seventies. Think I'm still around 30.

I think I may be stuck around the mid twenties. Who this old chap I am living with I have yet to fathom. Though he does come in handy now and then. 🤭

I feel as if I'm in my 20's. I enjoy life in the same way.

On a bad day I feel my age but they are few and far between thankfully.

I am no age in my head and neer have been. There is just the essence of who I am, which is ageless.

My head knows I'm 77 (as do my knees!) but I don't want to be that age so I'm not going to be .. so there.

I am 37 and have been now for 33 years.

Now MzOops is now 50 so I need a rethink.

However, my body doesn’t feel as though I am 37.

I'm the same as MOnica. I'm just me. I don't feel young or old. I feel the same as I've always felt.

Now in my 70s I suddenly do feel old. I notice how slow I am and forgetful. Time to pull myself together.

I’ve my 74 birthday in a couple of months. Some of me smiles and can’t believe it, the ache in my hips and the effort walking uphill takes makes me wonder if I’m 80
My lack of concern about age took a big bump when my husband was given a dreadful and unexpected diagnosis last year. He died six months later. He was 71 and very fit till suddenly he wasn’t. I feel much older than I did a year ago. Onwards and Upwards 🙏🏿

And I am still shocked that I have 'known' you for 10 years.

Although I am 74, I was ageless in my head until I was taken to hospital as an emergency in September. My energy levels and physical strength are taking a long time to get back to normal because I am older. So, currently I am about 60 I think.

What does being young or old in one's head even mean? I think it's a nonsensical question – utterly subjective and unhelpful.
